I started Pinakothek ( ekotodi.blogspot.com) because I wanted to see what I could do with a writing medium that was completely open-ended and self-directed. I made it about pictures because I’m obsessed with visual images, especially photographs—especially ones that have survived time and weather and neglect, carrying some kind of partly indecipherable information and a beauty that might be accidental. Of course, the blog’s being open-ended and self-directed makes it also unpaid, so it’s a bit irregular in its appearances.
