Stefan Goldmann creates shimmering house that undulates with unexpected textures; his 2006 hit, “Sleepy Hollow,” with its cascading synth wrapped around a tack-sharp beat, ended up on plenty of best-of-year lists. KiNK produces experimental techno that’s as interested in headspace as it is with the dance floor. Working together as Vinyl, they meet halfway: “Nebula Sofia” is a spaced-out track with gleaming explosions of sound anchored to a dubby footing reminiscent of Basic Channel, while the even-better “The Weasel” features a deep, ringing two-note bassline that mimics the sound of massive bells.
